Why see TU Dance with Bon Iver?

A meeting of minds at the forefront of contemporary arts

The acclaimed collaboration between the groundbreaking musician Bon Iver and dynamic Minnesota contemporary dance troupe TU Dance heads out on the road in 2020. Entitled "Come Through", the work was commissioned by the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra's Liquid Music Series and has been described by City Pages as a 'sensory experience', transcending the form and constraints of the average dance performance or rock concert.

TU Dance was founded by Toni Pierce-Sands and Uri Sands in 2004 and since has earned plaudits for its inventive body of work that combines disciplines such as classical ballet, modern dance and works based on African traditions, winning multiple awards including "Best Dance company of 2016" from the Star Tribune. Justin Vernon's Bon Iver has become one of the most important acts of this generation, blurring genre boundaries across 3 studio albums, with a 4th due in 2019. Collaborations with other artists across the musical spectrum include Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Bruce Hornsby, and other works includes the annual curation of his own Eaux Claire Music Festival and artist-focused digital platform "37d03d".
