Amos Lee

Why see Amos Lee?

One Of Todays Folk Heroes

Amos Lee is heading on a new tour this spring! One of the shining stars of modern folk, Amos Lee crosses the genres of folk, soul and jazz and calls on Stevie Wonder and James Taylor as major influences. His 2011 album 'Mission Bell' topped the Billboard charts and included contributions from Willie Nelson among others. His follow-up may have been met with mixed reviews, but as with any singer-songwriter of this genre, it's at a live performance where the magic is truly made.

His musical break came only after a stint as an English teacher at a second-grade school in Philadelphia, alongside which he was a part-time bartender at local music bars. This musical influence saw him performing at open mic nights as be built up a network of industry contacts, one of which happened to be Bob Dylan's manager and, as they say, the rest of history.

Amazing show!

Amos Lee and his crack band delivered a great show last night at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. A great mix of newer tunes and some of his classics. He was in great voice and backed by some extraordinary Philly musicians (with one exception...the Belgian drummer). Would go to see him again in a heartbeat. ... Read more

Safe Haven Creater

First time I saw Amos Lee was at the Tin Angel in Philadelphia. The session was beautiful and a new voice & sound. You could sit in the front row of the small venue if you had dinner downstairs & I did that as often as Amos Lee appeared. On Tuesday’s when Amos was in town, he would play in the old Woolworth’s in Chestnut Hill at a venue called N. by NW & I went with my daughter & her friend Deb more times than you’d believe. Just finished listening to Red Rocks with Colorado Orchestra & at 76 (me), Amos does not fail to electrify . Amos has gotten me through Covid & all its depressing aftermath. Singular is a word that comes to mind. You are beloved. ... Read more
